Thankfully the others knew how to make one so I had plenty of guidance and help throughout.</div><div><br></div><div>Now I love all things Tim Holtz and that includes his fabric so didn't want the finished cushion to be so small that I couldn't see the different patterns. We found a plate in the kitchen of the retreat venue and after drawing the circle onto paper, we folded it into eight and then cut out one triangle to make the template. I decided to use the same material pattern on the top and bottom of each segment so cut the fabric pieces accordingly. </div><div><br></div><div>Next I machined the triangles together in pairs before machining the all top pieces together, then the all bottom pieces together and finally the top and bottom circles together. Now my pin cushion required an awful lot of stuffing and once full I had to stitch the small opening up by hand. </div><div><br></div><div>Once that was done I decided to add an embellishment so I die cut a Tim Holtz tattered floral flower and chose a button for the top.</div><div><br></div><div>To add the binding I took a long piece of embroidery thread and a very long needle. We put a knot at one end and then went though the centre from the bottom and then around each segment seam back to the middle until we had the shape we required. Still using the same length of thread we attached the flower and the button.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GyDR-lPvR_E/VusNBas8goI/AAAAAAAABQU/A-IaKMMlXaI/s640/blogger-image-1824966700.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-GyDR-lPvR_E/VusNBas8goI/AAAAAAAABQU/A-IaKMMlXaI/s640/blogger-image-1824966700.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-t1UMVB8rJ4s/VunTTccDFgI/AAAAAAAABQE/0VHHTEe1mtI/s640/blogger-image-915643456.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-t1UMVB8rJ4s/VunTTccDFgI/AAAAAAAABQE/0VHHTEe1mtI/s640/blogger-image-915643456.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NKjfJ-N_1yQ/VunTRgqYR9I/AAAAAAAABQA/Pbz7pjOpX7A/s640/blogger-image-1495725781.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NKjfJ-N_1yQ/VunTRgqYR9I/AAAAAAAABQA/Pbz7pjOpX7A/s640/blogger-image-1495725781.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I am thrilled with the finished pin cushion, and yes it is huge (about 8 inches) and it certainly gave us an evening of laughter!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div>Thanks for looking</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Tracey x</div></div></div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-11348565488493510962016-03-14T21:03:00.001+00:002016-03-14T21:13:42.740+00:00Fabric Spool BookI was given a beautiful wooden spool last November and knew immediately that I wanted to make a fabric spool book. I <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">had seen a few online so have had an idea in my head for a number of months now.</span><div><br></div><div>I started with a long piece of calico onto which I stamped some PaperArtsy JoFY flower stamps using black archival ink. I had wanted to add some colour but I didn't have any suitable pens or ink pads on my weekend away. Once completed I laid this piece onto some wadding and then onto a contrasting piece of fabric and finally onto a larger piece of the calico. I placed a piece of ribbon between the sandwich at one end and a piece of hessian which was wrapped around my spool at the other end. I then used my sewing machine to stitch the layers together around the edge adding a few different stitches for interest. I also stitched around each of the leaf stamps I'd inked to give a quilted look.<br><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Next I die cut the Tim Holtz tattered florals using a piece of the hessian, calico and some of the Tim Holtz eclectic elements fabrics. I stitched the flower to the end of the book adding a button in the middle to provide a closure with the ribbon. I attached a piece of lace at the other end to cover some of the hessian.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Next I die cut the Tim Holtz rosettes in Tim Holtz card stock, stamped a Tim Holtz clock face and cut a bird plus branches from a Stampin'Up punch. I used distress ink to add my favourite grunge look and put each of the rosette together adding a couple of idea-ology pieces. I glued all 3 rosettes to a wooden skewer which I then glued into the middle of the spool.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Lastly I distressed a small wooden spool which I attached to the top of the spool along with a few clear beads.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gU9SFKgdQwM/Vucm-p6ktDI/AAAAAAAABPo/uwe062KLCRY/s640/blogger-image--1765756523.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-gU9SFKgdQwM/Vucm-p6ktDI/AAAAAAAABPo/uwe062KLCRY/s640/blogger-image--1765756523.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FQbuz8aftSI/VucnAk-WiBI/AAAAAAAABPw/zRCEu00K-ic/s640/blogger-image--839666784.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-FQbuz8aftSI/VucnAk-WiBI/AAAAAAAABPw/zRCEu00K-ic/s640/blogger-image--839666784.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-J7RQhjF4p0s/Vucm_23sYTI/AAAAAAAABPs/Naa8emopWrE/s640/blogger-image-1271320074.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-J7RQhjF4p0s/Vucm_23sYTI/AAAAAAAABPs/Naa8emopWrE/s640/blogger-image-1271320074.jpg"></a></div></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I am so pleased with my finished project.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for looking!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Tracey x</div></div></div></div></div></div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-75726244475115314392016-03-13T18:46:00.001+00:002016-03-13T18:49:09.968+00:00Village Dwelling<div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I purchased the Tim Holtz Village Dwelling die quite a while ago now after seeing some great projects created with it in the run up to Christmas.</span></div><div><br></div><div>I finally had the opportunity to have a play during my craft retreat last weekend and I have to admit that as I <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">haven't blogged for a while, I forgot to take step by step photos so this will be a short post.</span><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> </span></div><div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xJq1HMQOfDg/VuW1dp5KyZI/AAAAAAAABPU/PyIT6XqRHR0/s640/blogger-image--1016489352.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-xJq1HMQOfDg/VuW1dp5KyZI/AAAAAAAABPU/PyIT6XqRHR0/s640/blogger-image--1016489352.jpg"></a></div></div></div><div>I started by die cutting the house in mount board, although I think this is rather too thick, and plain so I then decided to die cut it again using some Tim Holtz card stock plus some bazzil basics. I constructed the house using glossy accents and then used distress ink to give it a grungy feel.</div><div><br></div><div>I look forward to having another go with this little die and maybe I will create my own little village and buy the accessories too.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HhgHrG-FbUY/VuW1eSe3vbI/AAAAAAAABPY/Y1ELizMAkH4/s640/blogger-image--986395706.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-HhgHrG-FbUY/VuW1eSe3vbI/AAAAAAAABPY/Y1ELizMAkH4/s640/blogger-image--986395706.jpg"></a></div>Thanks for looking!</div><div>Tracey x</div></div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-30740308598710310952015-12-23T06:39:00.001+00:002015-12-23T06:41:01.555+00:00Christmas Stocking<h2><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 17px;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">For the first project using my new sewing machine I decided to make a Christmas Stocking for my great niece who just turned 1 last month. I found the material by Henley Studio in a local sewing shop so purchased it giving me the front of the stocking, I also purchased a coordinating piece for the back and then some plain red material for the lining. I had some wadding already in my limited new sewing stash.</span></div></span></h2><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I started off with the tag, and stitched round each section of the tree before sewing the edges m. Next I stitched the lines on the stocking and went round a few of the stars to add some more interest. I created my own loop and binding for the top of the stocking (with some help from YouTube) and then once I had my front and back pieces completed, I stitched the 2 sides together. Instead of adding more binding to the inside seams I used a zigzag stitch to stop the edges from fraying.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6PUfdhA-u4Q/VnpBk-QROlI/AAAAAAAABOc/DXsaRl3il6U/s640/blogger-image-973891686.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6PUfdhA-u4Q/VnpBk-QROlI/AAAAAAAABOc/DXsaRl3il6U/s640/blogger-image-973891686.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CwxhaypI4D8/VnpBm-5OF0I/AAAAAAAABO0/poyB8v3g6pg/s640/blogger-image-470582213.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-CwxhaypI4D8/VnpBm-5OF0I/AAAAAAAABO0/poyB8v3g6pg/s640/blogger-image-470582213.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IGlRgB1VfVQ/VnpBnnBri6I/AAAAAAAABO4/rVS0SXfnkLg/s640/blogger-image-1517611986.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-IGlRgB1VfVQ/VnpBnnBri6I/AAAAAAAABO4/rVS0SXfnkLg/s640/blogger-image-1517611986.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DG9sr66vabU/VnpBlpw_Y3I/AAAAAAAABOg/iFUx1ihHxC0/s640/blogger-image--536959900.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DG9sr66vabU/VnpBlpw_Y3I/AAAAAAAABOg/iFUx1ihHxC0/s640/blogger-image--536959900.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Kk7HQw605EY/VnpBmcI6gpI/AAAAAAAABOs/7fcdwhK8olc/s640/blogger-image--565964750.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Kk7HQw605EY/VnpBmcI6gpI/AAAAAAAABOs/7fcdwhK8olc/s640/blogger-image--565964750.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WsnygDohLAY/VnpBkDr_XiI/AAAAAAAABOU/3vjBM5U3r5w/s640/blogger-image--1171291445.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WsnygDohLAY/VnpBkDr_XiI/AAAAAAAABOU/3vjBM5U3r5w/s640/blogger-image--1171291445.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OmymWdpPzCs/VnpBoSFZLoI/AAAAAAAABPE/Jx54IiAlL5o/s640/blogger-image-2138071431.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OmymWdpPzCs/VnpBoSFZLoI/AAAAAAAABPE/Jx54IiAlL5o/s640/blogger-image-2138071431.jpg"></a></div></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">am really thrilled with the finished stocking and this project has given me confidence with my new machine. </span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">I am delivering the stocking tomorrow night and I hope that Maisie loves it and will keep and use it forever...</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><br></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Thanks for looking!</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">Tracey x</span></div></div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-43862493014122092822015-12-22T22:00:00.001+00:002015-12-22T22:15:00.821+00:00New Sewing MachineFollowing my crafting weekend last month and my new found love of sewing and fabric, I decided to upgrade and purchased a new sewing machine. Based on recommendations from a couple of my crafting friends I went for a Janome SMD3000 from Sewing Machines Direct, once ordered it arrived the very next day. <div><br></div><div>The machine came with a table, scissors plus threads and a few other accessories. I also decided to buy the additional quilters pack which included a walking foot.<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KvBJZi1YxwI/VnnLY-FjK1I/AAAAAAAABOE/3ISLxJ2PC4c/s640/blogger-image-824607714.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-KvBJZi1YxwI/VnnLY-FjK1I/AAAAAAAABOE/3ISLxJ2PC4c/s640/blogger-image-824607714.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ON-tXQ3w35Q/VnnLYPqdfKI/AAAAAAAABN8/fFYkxwbFTb4/s640/blogger-image--240415384.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ON-tXQ3w35Q/VnnLYPqdfKI/AAAAAAAABN8/fFYkxwbFTb4/s640/blogger-image--240415384.jpg"></a></div></span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Needless to say, I am thrilled with this machine, the set up was easy and I couldn't wait to use it. They looked so beautiful that a couple of us decided to have a go at making our own pair.<div><br></div><div>Now we didn't really have the supplies but Barbara also had a beautiful piece of painted silk with some pretty shiny sparkly stitching already adde. We attached the material to a piece of red felt and then cut out the two shapes from the template to create each slipper.</div><div><br></div><div>I then added some shimmer from a spray made of glimmer and alcohol and attached sequins and beads to the top piece. I stitched several lines on the soles.</div><div><br></div><div>Finally I had to hand sew the two pieces together to make each shoe. They had made them at our previous retreats but this was my first time taking a sewing machine and trying some sewing projects for myself. Jacqui and Jo gave me some supplies and Jacqui also lent me her sewing machine for a couple of hours so that I could have a go at using it as I was thinking of upgrading and buying the same model (which I have since done).</span></div><div><br></div><div>Jacqui walked me through the project step by step which started with a piece of felt over which I laid strips of material and ribbon until I was happy with the result (the fabric Jacqui gave me was Tim Holtz so I was in my element)!</div><div><br></div><div>Jacqui's sewing machine had some fancy stitches so I spent some time getting to know the machine and adding a mixture of these stitches to my material strips in order to add some interest.</div><div><br></div><div>Once the base layer was complete, I added some extra elements just to the front of the book cover.</div><div><br></div><div>When I came to stitch the top and bottom edges, I included a piece of dyed ribbon to be used a place holder for a page plus some dyed elastic ribbon to help keep the book closed.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DgUOPIdAG48/Vln1Z_f6FSI/AAAAAAAABMQ/BQVlx7ngwZY/s640/blogger-image--153483382.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-DgUOPIdAG48/Vln1Z_f6FSI/AAAAAAAABMQ/BQVlx7ngwZY/s640/blogger-image--153483382.jpg"></a></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SRZQLibMwx8/Vln1bxEc1YI/AAAAAAAABMg/pYWZAvsPyuo/s640/blogger-image-942235589.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SRZQLibMwx8/Vln1bxEc1YI/AAAAAAAABMg/pYWZAvsPyuo/s640/blogger-image-942235589.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pQbuXw0R25Y/Vln1YoWybDI/AAAAAAAABMI/GzBHzs3S-XU/s640/blogger-image--259439170.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pQbuXw0R25Y/Vln1YoWybDI/AAAAAAAABMI/GzBHzs3S-XU/s640/blogger-image--259439170.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SslklDPiP3g/Vln1dJHnNCI/AAAAAAAABMo/yhsbdYebnv0/s640/blogger-image--383988127.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SslklDPiP3g/Vln1dJHnNCI/AAAAAAAABMo/yhsbdYebnv0/s640/blogger-image--383988127.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-04Cz8UDTAsk/Vln1a9DEEaI/AAAAAAAABMY/Lm1ocuBDsM8/s640/blogger-image--1596598656.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-04Cz8UDTAsk/Vln1a9DEEaI/AAAAAAAABMY/Lm1ocuBDsM8/s640/blogger-image--1596598656.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I am so pleased with the finished book cover and my new found love of sewing! The two pieces were pinned together inside out and stitched around the edge leaving a small space to turn the bag the right way round. I then stitched up the small hole by hand. The fabric was then folded and stitched in ways to create 5 pockets of varying sizes. I added two matching buttons and a hair band to keep the bag closed.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UvyTlCImluM/VlTcFifsX0I/AAAAAAAABLA/Dp642FgSWyE/s640/blogger-image--1686406248.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-UvyTlCImluM/VlTcFifsX0I/AAAAAAAABLA/Dp642FgSWyE/s640/blogger-image--1686406248.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WLnKPOZbl6o/VlTcHXRM3II/AAAAAAAABLQ/76WYewYKIAo/s640/blogger-image--1050369077.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WLnKPOZbl6o/VlTcHXRM3II/AAAAAAAABLQ/76WYewYKIAo/s640/blogger-image--1050369077.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-epx8m403tsc/VlTcGeQMRbI/AAAAAAAABLI/fguQeUrWWbQ/s640/blogger-image-165181197.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-epx8m403tsc/VlTcGeQMRbI/AAAAAAAABLI/fguQeUrWWbQ/s640/blogger-image-165181197.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-2ZSoZPD7d5A/VlTcILBUAlI/AAAAAAAABLY/5yGEysj481s/s640/blogger-image-730562806.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-2ZSoZPD7d5A/VlTcILBUAlI/AAAAAAAABLY/5yGEysj481s/s640/blogger-image-730562806.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Wz1koPMw4UQ/VlTcEqtXwbI/AAAAAAAABK4/ROLjTShBUyk/s640/blogger-image-838495894.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Wz1koPMw4UQ/VlTcEqtXwbI/AAAAAAAABK4/ROLjTShBUyk/s640/blogger-image-838495894.jpg"></a></div></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">It was a fun project and although I didn't quite follow the pattern with the final folds, I am happy with my little bag.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Thanks for looking!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Tracey x</div></div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-49136670923488502962015-11-23T20:45:00.001+00:002015-11-23T21:00:26.163+00:00Christmas BuntingWell it's been a while since my last blog and to be honest I hardly craft nowadays, but I have just been away on a crafty retreat with my friends this weekend so have a few projects to share. I absolutely love these weekends as it means that I get to craft and spend time with my creative friends <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">at least twice a year!</span><div><div><br></div><div>This time it was suggested the I tried something different as over<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> the last year or so a number of the group have really enjoyed creating projects with their sewing machines. Now my Sister bought me a basic machine for Christmas 2 years ago and I have to confess that it sat in the box until this September at which time I needed to alter a costume for my Spartan Beast obstacle course race.</span><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div>Anyway<span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"> I decided to accept the challenge and take my machine but had absolutely no supplies. I found out about a </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">sewing shop in the Town where I work and visited to buy supplies to create some Christmas bunting, I thought this would be an easy first project. They were very helpful and I came away with the 3 items below.</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QFq46J6c8lU/VlN7AvpiRPI/AAAAAAAABKo/1O4re3zHlpE/s640/blogger-image--480304727.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QFq46J6c8lU/VlN7AvpiRPI/AAAAAAAABKo/1O4re3zHlpE/s640/blogger-image--480304727.jpg"></a></div></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">It </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0); font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">was daunting being a complete novice and I did have to ask for some guidance and the girls were great help sharing their knowledge, time and materials to help me. To make my life easier I borrowed a flag template plus pinking shears and purchased some plain material and bonderweb to go between the 2 sides of each flag.</span></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cMM1iDYCClE/VlN6-tbpvhI/AAAAAAAABKY/QWUc8hMulN4/s640/blogger-image--42387418.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-cMM1iDYCClE/VlN6-tbpvhI/AAAAAAAABKY/QWUc8hMulN4/s640/blogger-image--42387418.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">I created 20 double-sided flags and spaced them with a 1 inch gap between each flag.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LJFH0xsl2xc/VlN6_sMcR0I/AAAAAAAABKg/o9R3nUf5-Hw/s640/blogger-image-271673053.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-LJFH0xsl2xc/VlN6_sMcR0I/AAAAAAAABKg/o9R3nUf5-Hw/s640/blogger-image-271673053.jpg"></a></div></div></div><span style="background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">In </span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">the end I found my way and I really enjoyed creating something for my home. Of course I was desperate to go and have had a few Twitter conversation's asking Wendy to come to teach in the UK over the years so I just had to book up and was lucky enough to get a place.</span></div><div><br></div><div>So on Sunday 2nd August I was up very early and along with one of my crafting friends, Jacqui, we travelled to Central London with excitement for the day ahead.</div><div><br></div><div>I have to confess to having a few of Wendy's Studio 490 products in my craft room for a while now but I've never really used the art parts or clearly for art so had great expectations of getting some inspiration.</div><div><br></div><div>Well I wasn't disappointed, the table was already set out with the project and it looked fab. There were only 40 of us in the workshop and the hotel provided plenty of refreshments throughout the day. Wendy took us through each step as we went along and then we went away and had a go at our own projects before moving on to the next step.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WxzjGVvk9fI/Vc878QoLr-I/AAAAAAAABJs/0iM4vxHj9-0/s640/blogger-image--788774463.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-WxzjGVvk9fI/Vc878QoLr-I/AAAAAAAABJs/0iM4vxHj9-0/s640/blogger-image--788774463.jpg"></a></div></div></div><div>In the morning we altered the box, I used new products and learned new techniques and the completed box is fantastic. No two completed boxes were the same as we had a choice of different ink colours, stamps and stencils (of course I chose brown)!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SJd0YE8qBQk/Vc87-fk7IhI/AAAAAAAABJ8/RxFpVijJILQ/s640/blogger-image--249115286.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-SJd0YE8qBQk/Vc87-fk7IhI/AAAAAAAABJ8/RxFpVijJILQ/s640/blogger-image--249115286.jpg"></a></div></div><div>After a lovely buffet lunch we created 4 beautiful tags, again I used some new products and I learned some great new techniques which I'll definitely be using again! I am so pleased with these four tags and it was great fun creating them. I didn't have many Christmas papers in my stash so went with a brown theme and my favourite Tim Holtz style. I used die cuts, stamps, papers, ribbons, punches, gems and lots of other products too. As I wanted to go over the edges of the houses I decided not to join them together in a row on a couple of pieces of ribbon. I completed the houses on the Saturday but sadly couldn't finish the project whilst I was there.</div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div>In the end and after a few different ideas, I <span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">decided to go with standing each house individually in a cotton reel using memo pins. I had to order more reels and pins when I arrived home and have spent the last week decorating these when I had a few spare minutes. I finally finished the project this morning and I'm rather happy with the end result.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">Unfortunately I don't have a fireplace in my modern house so they are lined up along a windowsill instead. It's difficult to take a picture of all of them in a row so here are four photos to give you an idea of how I decorated each house.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;"><br></span></div><div><span style="font-family: 'Helvetica Neue Light', HelveticaNeue-Light, helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I really enjoyed this festive project and think that it is something that could be adapted for any occasion such as a new home or a person's name etc.</span></div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Hg79chQxFK0/VIS4jFlNpPI/AAAAAAAABIg/c5JQdPhk65s/s640/blogger-image--1434984632.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-Hg79chQxFK0/VIS4jFlNpPI/AAAAAAAABIg/c5JQdPhk65s/s640/blogger-image--1434984632.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-iMNhfWDerxM/VIS4kc1xUFI/AAAAAAAABIo/Cz84yQ4-A0k/s640/blogger-image-1834028918.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-iMNhfWDerxM/VIS4kc1xUFI/AAAAAAAABIo/Cz84yQ4-A0k/s640/blogger-image-1834028918.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Xm3CFddyQDw/VIS4lh5wzdI/AAAAAAAABIw/gCV7lBLRcYY/s640/blogger-image-619721102.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Xm3CFddyQDw/VIS4lh5wzdI/AAAAAAAABIw/gCV7lBLRcYY/s640/blogger-image-619721102.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1UEQ76ZauIw/VIS4nXZ_x_I/AAAAAAAABI4/zLHXhE25OBs/s640/blogger-image-1788694597.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-1UEQ76ZauIw/VIS4nXZ_x_I/AAAAAAAABI4/zLHXhE25OBs/s640/blogger-image-1788694597.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Thanks for looking!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Tracey x</div></div></div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-21798306383866158042014-11-30T16:52:00.001+00:002014-11-30T17:01:02.808+00:00Advent CalendarSo after my inky crafty weekend last week I am well and truly hooked again. So much so that during the week I made an order with Papermaze so that I could finally make the Kaisercraft advent calendar (which I purchased about 3 years ago)! Needless to say I've enjoyed some of my weekend working on this project. <div><br></div><div>I found a great tutorial on the Merly Impressions blog when I first bought the calendar, I found it again and read it through for any hints and tips that I needed to know. I used Adirondack espresso and gold acrylic paint dabbers, brushed corduroy distress ink, gathered twigs distress stain, My Minds Eye Joyful papers and embellishments, plus twine, gems, pins, tissue paper and glossy accents.</div><div><br></div><div>Unfortunately I've finished the project after dark so the photos aren't as good as they could be.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-eSIHN7NUv5U/VHtLTz7x5mI/AAAAAAAABIA/fAL-BpaK8nk/s640/blogger-image--1808793288.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-eSIHN7NUv5U/VHtLTz7x5mI/AAAAAAAABIA/fAL-BpaK8nk/s640/blogger-image--1808793288.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-OUCV5xKrGi4/VHtLVfBBFlI/AAAAAAAABII/uhDokmFLo9A/s640/blogger-image-1870985256.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-OUCV5xKrGi4/VHtLVfBBFlI/AAAAAAAABII/uhDokmFLo9A/s640/blogger-image-1870985256.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-WXDGWzI1ae8/VHtLWpHbMlI/AAAAAAAABIQ/qbpn9MOpi0Y/s640/blogger-image-2037582796.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-WXDGWzI1ae8/VHtLWpHbMlI/AAAAAAAABIQ/qbpn9MOpi0Y/s640/blogger-image-2037582796.jpg"></a></div></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div>I am so pleased with how it's turned out and I know we're going to enjoy using it for years to come. As often is the case I was a bit last minute and have to admit I didn't really know where to start for this type of card and my original thought was to go with something along the lines of a rain 'shower'. Thankfully on the morning of the shower I remembered that I had these Jolee's pregnancy dimensional stickers in my stash...perfect. I combined them with inks, gems, stamps, punches, flowers etc. and came up with this simple and individual card.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-j7MRQYL6JFw/VHQqc0uygDI/AAAAAAAABHw/C9snvrvWJ8w/s640/blogger-image--1787581061.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-j7MRQYL6JFw/VHQqc0uygDI/AAAAAAAABHw/C9snvrvWJ8w/s640/blogger-image--1787581061.jpg"></a></div></div><div>Thanks for looking!</div><div>Tracey x</div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-83816080432132613522014-11-24T19:05:00.001+00:002014-11-24T20:37:32.363+00:00I'm back!Yes that's right, I'm back...<div><div><br></div><div>Except for the occasional card here and there I haven't done any serious crafting since September 2013! I know...over a year...I can't believe it either but I'm happy to say that all changed this weekend as I spent a really enjoyable time at a crafty retreat with friends.</div><div><br></div><div>Before I could pack up the car and leave home on Friday I had to venture into and tidy up my craft room in order to find everything I wanted to take. Now that was a challenge in itself (as some of my friends will know as my boyfriend once posted a photo of my messy room on Facebook)! It was like Aladdin's cave and I found a whole box of Tim Holtz items I'd purchased and not even opened!<br><div><br><div>So onto one of the projects I completed during the retreat. A while back my Niece asked me if I could make her a name banner for the little girl she was expecting last Thursday. I'm pleased to announce that Maisie was born on Friday so it was full steam ahead to get this project completed. I didn't really want to do anything too cute and wanted it to reflect my crafting style. I started with a piece of plain mount board and obviously used lots of Tim Holtz products, got very inky and enjoyed every part of getting back into crafting.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-du-JrnAS2UM/VHOBeXN6OBI/AAAAAAAABHY/4ZwnfDIR898/s640/blogger-image-1694576089.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-du-JrnAS2UM/VHOBeXN6OBI/AAAAAAAABHY/4ZwnfDIR898/s640/blogger-image-1694576089.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ydd_ZiKn0_s/VHOBcqj-f0I/AAAAAAAABHQ/y9fy0G0wIA8/s640/blogger-image--1129540088.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ydd_ZiKn0_s/VHOBcqj-f0I/AAAAAAAABHQ/y9fy0G0wIA8/s640/blogger-image--1129540088.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-__3WPXyfv7c/VHOBfxCCVHI/AAAAAAAABHg/TC6IKjK6w40/s640/blogger-image-1644457629.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-__3WPXyfv7c/VHOBfxCCVHI/AAAAAAAABHg/TC6IKjK6w40/s640/blogger-image-1644457629.jpg"></a></div><br></div></div><div>I'm thrilled with the finished piece and visited my great Niece to meet her this morning, she is absolutely beautiful. I wanted the card to reflect my crafting style in order to make it more personal and used the same tattered rose distress ink and embossing folder as for the Wedding invites I created. I wanted something different to the norm and had purchased the Tim Holtz pocket watch die a few months back but hadn't used it before, I decided to make it the focal point of the card and cut it out in cardboard before choosing everything else to go with it.</span><br />

Just before the wedding I found a Wedding Post Box in the Range whilst buying some craft items and thought I'd buy it for my Sister. However once constructed I wasn't very happy with how it looked so I decided it needed a little bit of additional decoration. I started by adding silver star wrapping paper behind the card structure and then put the cage together. I added the ribbon it came with at the top but still wasn't happy. Next I made a 'Thank you' tag for my Sister to write a sentiment on and then made some bunting to hang across the front. I have to say that the actual letter box wasn't the largest but it still worked well and best of all Ann was really pleased with it.</div>

After suggesting making the button bouquet for my Sister's Wedding, I also suggested making a button wrist corsage for the 3 Bridesmaids (including myself) and my Sister. Again my Sister loved the idea and it meant that she could keep the button bouquet theme even when she wasn't carrying her bouquet during the reception.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
I sourced 4 pearl corsage bracelets online and then designed the corsage in a similar style to some of the bouquet stems using one of the large flower buttons as the main feature. I also used felt, angel hair, crochet flowers, small buttons, pearls and wire. Apart from the felt everything else featured in the bouquet. I'm pleased to say that my Sister was also pleased with how these turned out.</div>

Again, plenty of helpful guidance was on hand from Anna.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/--mA2_AGgYxA/UjTkj_8RBwI/AAAAAAAABD4/_00MhTzzoDA/s640/blogger-image-1650524500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/--mA2_AGgYxA/UjTkj_8RBwI/AAAAAAAABD4/_00MhTzzoDA/s640/blogger-image-1650524500.jpg"></a></div>I managed to complete the first double page layout and again used an adopted ancestor for the project but I hope to swap the photo out when I get time to revisit my projects.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-xFepw_jbxOA/UjTkm52JDaI/AAAAAAAABEI/NUR4Vi02VCU/s640/blogger-image-1252784290.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-xFepw_jbxOA/UjTkm52JDaI/AAAAAAAABEI/NUR4Vi02VCU/s640/blogger-image-1252784290.jpg"></a></div><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Wy6sFAq1wEA/UjTkfTbhsDI/AAAAAAAABDg/1BuH5T1QcE0/s640/blogger-image-1641637903.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; "><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Wy6sFAq1wEA/UjTkfTbhsDI/AAAAAAAABDg/1BuH5T1QcE0/s640/blogger-image-1641637903.jpg"></a></div><div>We started the second set of pages in class which uses a different style and managed to complete the background, but as they are not finished the photos will follow. The UK event was called 'Journeys of the Past' and really was just as brilliant as you'd imagine it to be!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-SzeVlocvkoE/UihyhkZvLnI/AAAAAAAABAE/0nyBQMQKH_U/s640/blogger-image-886268101.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-SzeVlocvkoE/UihyhkZvLnI/AAAAAAAABAE/0nyBQMQKH_U/s400/blogger-image-886268101.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
We arrived to find the kit for the project already set out on the table (I didn't have to take a single thing with me).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-sRlovU9yZRw/UihyLmBBPUI/AAAAAAAAA_k/ZgOSUO5AG5M/s640/blogger-image--1604366066.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-sRlovU9yZRw/UihyLmBBPUI/AAAAAAAAA_k/ZgOSUO5AG5M/s400/blogger-image--1604366066.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
We got very inky using old and new products before adding numerous embellishments to each tag. It was so much fun. Tim is a great teacher and the workshop flowed along at a nice pace.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Again we received a bumper pack of products to use and of course I was determined to use every single item in true Finnabair style.<div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Sw1HybMzBfU/Uizg1hR8M3I/AAAAAAAABB4/gx_TSmn0458/s640/blogger-image-442196846.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Sw1HybMzBfU/Uizg1hR8M3I/AAAAAAAABB4/gx_TSmn0458/s640/blogger-image-442196846.jpg"></a></div>There were plenty of tutorials along the way and Anna makes it look so easy with her relaxed approach to mixed media art.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-hVawB1_bW6c/Uizg5-TZSWI/AAAAAAAABCQ/iRC7GqkCN20/s640/blogger-image--438694984.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-hVawB1_bW6c/Uizg5-TZSWI/AAAAAAAABCQ/iRC7GqkCN20/s640/blogger-image--438694984.jpg"></a></div>Now unfortunately I was very silly and forgot to take my own photos with me so for this project I adopted a fake ancestor and this is my finished canvas.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XjC18QD2TGM/Uizg3LgWe0I/AAAAAAAABCA/Mv_1qFkvJT8/s640/blogger-image-1066063220.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XjC18QD2TGM/Uizg3LgWe0I/AAAAAAAABCA/Mv_1qFkvJT8/s640/blogger-image-1066063220.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IMwQs6teQFU/Uizg4R-no8I/AAAAAAAABCI/rqYr6sMpA3c/s640/blogger-image--209858356.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-IMwQs6teQFU/Uizg4R-no8I/AAAAAAAABCI/rqYr6sMpA3c/s640/blogger-image--209858356.jpg"></a></div></div><div>Well what a great first day it was and I went back to the hotel feeling tired but very happy and excited for the next workshop.</div><div><br></div><div>Thanks for looking!</div><div>Tracey x</div>Tracey-Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01992735505867235782noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9158500764533335203.post-84646811781876609782013-09-07T08:47:00.001+01:002013-09-08T21:00:40.489+01:00Finnabair workshop 1: 'Industrial Baroque Tea for 2Last weekend I was extremely lucky to attend 2 whole days of workshops at Snazzys in Swindon with Anna Dabrowska aka Finnabair. I've long admired her style but hadn't tried to recreate it before.<div><br></div><div>Saturday morning was a class called 'Industrial Baroque Tea for 2'. We used lots of goodies from Anna's Prima range for our project as you can see from the kit photo below.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9wiYaJU4rEs/UiraA-KsajI/AAAAAAAABBA/vmYvRsuW330/s640/blogger-image--87572651.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-9wiYaJU4rEs/UiraA-KsajI/AAAAAAAABBA/vmYvRsuW330/s640/blogger-image--87572651.jpg"></a></div>Anna is another great teacher and there was lots of very messy inky fun to be had during the morning. The class moved along at a good pace to keep on track and Anna gave us great tutorials through each step of the project. It was so much fun and best not to over think it!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TXKj96PVpL8/UiraDvl2nsI/AAAAAAAABBQ/xfOC0vvPK8E/s640/blogger-image-1121428928.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-TXKj96PVpL8/UiraDvl2nsI/AAAAAAAABBQ/xfOC0vvPK8E/s640/blogger-image-1121428928.jpg"></a></div></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-bwPIwecasu0/UiraCaAQFcI/AAAAAAAABBI/TGqLcqzuLxE/s640/blogger-image--1884624444.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-bwPIwecasu0/UiraCaAQFcI/AAAAAAAABBI/TGqLcqzuLxE/s640/blogger-image--1884624444.jpg"></a></div></div><div>We made a stunning layout and I challenged myself to use all the components in order to recreate Anna's style on my page. Now I wouldn't normally use so many embellishments on one piece but the outcome is simply gorgeous and I love it!</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OXcex4x92bE/UiraFBIBQFI/AAAAAAAABBY/jtWU6RVQ3rA/s640/blogger-image-1225142542.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-OXcex4x92bE/UiraFBIBQFI/AAAAAAAABBY/jtWU6RVQ3rA/s640/blogger-image-1225142542.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-moPTNrXCCBY/UiraGwts6nI/AAAAAAAABBg/_L0cUX_VkNo/s640/blogger-image-1170064733.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-moPTNrXCCBY/UiraGwts6nI/AAAAAAAABBg/_L0cUX_VkNo/s640/blogger-image-1170064733.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><span style="-webkit-tap-highlight-color: rgba(26, 26, 26, 0.296875); -webkit-composition-fill-color: rgba(175, 192, 227, 0.230469); -webkit-composition-frame-color: rgba(77, 128, 180, 0.230469); ">At the end I asked Anna to sign my layout close to the embellishments on the left and intend to print out the photo of myself and Anna (below) ready to add to the lighter space between the embellishments on the right to complete my page.</span></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-eI6CwZx7A8k/UiraIY-ZMfI/AAAAAAAABBo/_iMdSIcgB7U/s640/blogger-image--1956075005.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-eI6CwZx7A8k/UiraIY-ZMfI/AAAAAAAABBo/_iMdSIcgB7U/s640/blogger-image--1956075005.jpg"></a></div>It was an absolutely wonderful morning and even better there were still 3 workshops to go! As always there's lots of inspiration so it's definitely worth stopping by the <a href="http://blog.paperartsy.co.uk/2013/09/3-up-night-three-cats-meow.html?m=1" target="_blank">PaperArtsy</a> blog for a look!<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
So a little while back I received a parcel from Leandra containing numerous goodies including a canvas, a set of cat's meow stamps, ribbon, card stock, embellishments etc. At first I was a little stumped for a project idea but then finally and just in time my crafting mojo (which has been missing for a couple months) returned and I ended up making a hanging. This project was quite a challenge but I loved the opportunity to be able to take part!<br />
