As you will know if you've visited my blog before, I have recently started to join in with a couple of blog challenges. I currently have to do challenges that are monthly as I can't seem to find the time to participate in weekly or fortnightly ones. Even this month I am cutting it fine but with the theme's of these challenges being related it was much easier and I decided to create a tag as to me it symbolises travel/holidays/circling the world!
I am submitting my tag at the following August blog challenges:
Happy Daze Design Team Blog - Circling the World
The Artistic Stamper Creative Team Blog - Holidays
Tando Creative Challenges Blog - Travel
I started by cutting the Tim Holtz tag die from white card stock and used Tim Holtz distress inks to colour the base and create the Olympic rings using the lid of an Adirondack acrylic paint dabber for the circles. I added Tim Holtz stamps in black, three directly on to the tag and 3 on to white card stock, again inking in browns. I went round the edges of my tag with Adirondack gold acrylic paint dabber before distressing to give it a used feel, next I spritzed the tag with water and Tattered Angels marshmallow glimmer mist and then added 2 strips of Tim Holtz tissue tape across the middle. Once complete, I used a Sakura gelly roll white pen to highlight just inside the edges, the circles of the compass and the 'admit one' writing on the ticket. Happy with my background tag, I used a brad to attach the compass, foam to add the plane to give some depth and then also added a small piece of Tim Holtz film strip with tiny attacher staples at each end under the ticket. I coated the ticket with glossy accents and the plane with rock candy. Finally I threaded a piece of ribbon and twine through the tag hole and stapled to hold it in place.

Altered Mousetrap
It was my turn to set the latest Bramford Crop challenge and I've recently seen a few people altering mousetraps so I thought we'd give it a go. I think I initially stumped everyone with my choice but it is a challenge after all so I am looking forward to seeing what everyone has done.
I started by taking the mousetrap apart removing all of the metal and then spritzed the whole wooden base with Dylusions ink in melted chocolate. Next I cut a piece of card stock just smaller than the front of the mousetrap and coloured it using the Tim Holtz fall seasonal distress inks and a script stamp. I glued it to the mousetrap using Claudine Hellmuth multi-medium matte and then covered the front of the card stock in the same. Next I covered the top half of the card stock with Ranger stickles, added Tim Holtz distress embossing powder on the bottom right hand corner and Ranger Adirondack gold paint dabber to the top right hand corner. Once dry I replaced all of the metal parts.
For the embellishments, I coloured 3 white flowers with Dylusions inks in melted chocolate, crushed grape and pure sunshine. Then added a Tim Holtz ideology timepiece clock, game spinner and foliage metal flower plus some gems and glass beads. Finally I wrote my sentiment on Kraft card stock and covered in Tim Holtz distress crackle paint clear rock candy. I decided to hang my photo under the mousetrap and used a picture taken with my best friend a number of years ago, attaching it to Kraft card stock, white tissue paper and corrugated card then added Ranger Adirondack gold paint dabber to the edges. Finally I added a swivel clasp to hang my piece.
